Founded 1984

  • Mission statement

The Women’s Arts Association is a vibrant and responsive organisation committed to addressing isolation and exclusion experienced by women in the arts. WAA works in partnership with practitioners, communities and funding bodies to develop accessible, high quality, creative opportunities for women, celebrating diversity and equality across all art forms.

Founded in 1984 and based in Cardiff Bay, the Women’s Arts Association provides a membership service and organises engaging exhibitions and events.

WAA does not receive any arts funding, relying on donations and membership for its activities. Every year, we have shows for International Women's Day and in this year these will be in Cardiff (in Llanover Hall and Butetown History & Arts Centre) and in Barry (Arts Central) as well as satellites shows across Wales.

Membership is either free or Associate for £10. All members get free ebulletins and eNewsletters, and Associates get discounts and special events.
