Firefly International

Firefly International is all about work in the field…. We support locally‐led projects in conflict and post-conflict regions that create safe, supportive and inclusive spaces for young people who have been affected by war, enabling them to learn, thrive and grow

Founded 1997

  • Mission statement

Firefly supports young people aged 14 to 25 in setting up and running their own projects and organisations, or in collaborating with or volunteering for other projects around the world. We also build links between divided communities, by running projects involving people from each community involved as leaders and participants - our activities focus on what our communities have in common, rather than what divides us. We have developed our methods and proved their success working in Bosnia since 1996; we also work in the UK and in Afghanistan.
