The Royal School of Church Music is an international, ecumenical Christian charity dedicated to the good use of music in worship.

Founded 1927

  • Mission statement

    The RSCM is a Christian charity dedicated to church music of many traditions, well composed, well sung, and well played, ‘with the heart and with the understanding also’.

    8,500 members and 600 volunteers help us to carry out our mission in the UK and internationally through education, publications, events, clergy training. We support, train, and enable musicians, composers, directors, singers, and instrumentalists of every tradition and in many styles.

    Royal School of Church Music aims to:

    • Providing educational courses and resources for church musicians, worship leaders, choirs and schools
    • Promoting the best composition and use of traditional and new music in Christian worship
    • Choral education for children and youth
    • Support for churches struggling to provide music in regular worship
