North of England Activities and Training

To act as a resource for young people under the age of 25 living in the North of England by providing advice and assistance and organizing programmes of physical, educational and other activities as a means of:
a) advancing in life and helping young people by developing their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as independent, responsible and mature individuals;
b) advancing education;
c) relieving unemployment;
d) providing recreational and leisure time activity in the interests of social welfare for people living in the area of benefit who have need by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, poverty or social and economic circumstances with a view to improving the conditions of life of such persons
We are different from other young organisations because:
- we have no fixed base, instead communicating via schools, e-mail, text and post;
- we have extensive expertise in outdoor activities for new participants;
- by maintaining contact throughout the 11-25 age range we maximise the transitions from participant to leader;
- we are genuinely multi-ethnic, with a participant profile at 31. 12. 08 of 13. 6% Bengali, 8. 4% Indian, 57. 3% Pakistani, 15% White British, 2. 8% White Roma, 2. 9% Black/Chinese/Arabic/Iraqi
