Ataxia UK is the national charity for people affected by ataxia.
Ataxia UK have been supporting people affected by ataxia for fifty years. Ataxia UK’s vision is a world without ataxia. Although we are a small charity, in the last 10 years Ataxia UK has committed more than £4m to ataxia research. As well as supporting people with ataxia, the money that we raise goes straight to funding world-class research into treatments and a possible cure. Every day our researchers are working on projects that lead us closer to the prospect of a cure for ataxia
To help people live with the condition in the meantime, we provide unique services and support, including a dedicated helpline service; events and conferences where people can meet and share information; a quarterly magazine; a website with lots of information and a discussion forum; publications, films, and reports. We offer free membership and vital support from the difficult time of first diagnosis through all the challenges people with ataxia face every day.
Ataxia UK aims to:
- To support everybody affected by ataxia across the UK
- To fund world-leading research into the ataxias and discover new treatments and ultimately a cure
