Charity information

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

The MS Society is dedicated to supporting everyone whose life is touched by multiple sclerosis, from the teenager coming to terms with their diagnosis to the parent struggling to cope with MS and a young family.

MS can mean a variety of debilitating symptoms including problems with mobility, loss of vision, deadening fatigue and pain. Our mission is to enable everyone affected by MS to live to their full potential and secure the care and support they need until we ultimately find a cure.

As well as being the largest funder of MS research in the UK we also provide a broad range of services which include:

• a free MS helpline which answers around 15,000 enquiries each year from those seeking information and emotional support
• respite care centres which offer subsidised short breaks for those most severely affected
• MS Nurses who provide specialist care for people with MS and training for health professionals
• grants for mobility aids and home adaptations which allow people with MS to retain their independence
• information and publications which provide essential knowledge on all aspects of MS to all those who need it

None of these vital services are possible without voluntary donations. We hope you are able to help us achieve our aim; to beat MS.
