BCD offers emotional & practical support to people (men and women) in Leeds who are experiencing/have experienced domestic abuse.

  • Mission statement

    To promote for the public benefit by the provision of support and access to services and information to women and their children who live or work in the Metropolitan district of Leeds, including outlying rural areas, who are suffering or have suffered from domestic abuse and to work with other agencies within the community to raise awareness of the issues of domestic abuse. We offer an outreach programme as well as a recovery programme and a volunteer programme.
    We have a team of volunteers who carry out support work and run the help line. We have achieved the quality standard PQASSO level 3 and have received Investors In People recognition and have recently been awarded a level 3 Domestic Violence Minimum Standards Quality Mark which supports the Leeds Domestic Violence Strategy.

    • To encourage individuals & communities to challenge the acceptance of domestic abuse & end the collusion that enables abuse to continue & builds barriers to seeking help
    • To support people to increase their safety & provide them with choices
    • To promote inter-agency co-operation & joint action to raise awareness of domestic abuse
