  • Mission statement

DRUM aims to provide high quality, innovative & affordable day services for the disabled & their carers. Our services & activities provide an opportunity for our members to learn & develop new skills, regain independence & raise confidence. DRUM is a user-led organisation, run for the disabled, by the disabled. The majority of our members were not born with a disability but have acquired a disability through accident or illness. As the majority of our board, staff & voluntary positions are held by people that have disabilities or personal caring experience, it ensures that our programs & services effectively meet the needs of our service users & the local community. Among the opportunities available are activities in areas such as arts, education, social & leisure, health & personal development. Many of our activities are tailored to meet the specific needs of our members in areas such as mobility or daily living skills. Our activity sessions are held twice a day, led by tutors & volunteers, and include sessions in:- art, creative crafts, textiles, ceramics, sculpture, yoga, creative dance, complementary therapy, drama, indoor bowls, gardening & angling. In addition to our daily activities, we also provide transport, refreshments, hot lunches, daily newspapers, regular day trips, social and leisure activities.
