Royal College of Art

The Royal College of Art, founded 170 years ago, is a very special kind of ideas factory. As the only wholly postgraduate university of art and design in the world, it specialises in teaching and research, offering twenty degrees across the disciplines of fine art, applied art, design, communications and humanities. 850 masters and doctoral students from more than forty different nationalities interact with a teaching staff of over 100 professionals, all of whom are leading art and design practitioners in their own right.

Applicants are selected for places entirely on merit and an average of 90% of RCA graduates – over the last ten years – have been successfully engaged in work which directly relates to the specialism they studied and at a level that reflects their skill and expertise.

Well known alumni include Henry Moore and David Hockney; Tracey Emin and the Chapman Brothers; James Dyson and Thomas Heatherwick; Peter Stevens and David Adjaye; Zandra Rhodes and Philip Treacy plus a host of other household names.
