Ferne Animal Sanctuary

To provide refuge for unwanted animals and to provide care and shelter for domestic and agricultural animals whose owners are unable or unwilling to give them proper care and attention. The sole criteria for acceptance will be the capability of the Sanctuary to provide competent care for the animal in form of accommodation, feed, grazing and the mental and physical wellbeing.
The sanctuary will actively seek suitable homes for cats, dogs and horses and shall regularly check on their well being after Rehoming.
All other animals shall, once accepted, be cared for at the Sanctuary until their lives are ended by natural death or euthanasia on veterinary advice.
In addition to accepting from all members of the public unwanted companion and agricultural animals subject only to capacity, the Sanctuary provides free access and guided tours of the beautiful and serene site and provides, at no charge, talks to schools, local societies and residential homes. Giving financial aid to the adopters of animals with ongoing medical conditions by use of a ‘Support Fund’. This may alos be used for assisting with he costs of routine treatment for adopted animals whose owners are undergoing periods of financial hardship.
