Peach promotes Early Intensive Behavioural Intervention and helps parents of children with autism by providing support, information and choice.
The Peach office is in Ascot, Berkshire, with staff based around the UK. The charity was started in 1996 by a group of parents.
Peach focuses on early years support and provision providing ABA (Applied Behavioural Analysis), which focuses on communication, social, academic and emotional skills. This enables children with autism to take better advantage of the social and educational opportunities available to them. They will also require less support as they grow older.
The charity provides a range of information leaflets and a helpline, giving advice on ABA, diagnosis and other issues in this field. This includes matters such as information and guidance on obtaining Local Authority support and assistance in preparing for Special Educational Needs Tribunals (to establish educational need). It also produces a bi-monthly magazine, hosts conferences and runs ABA training courses for both parents and professionals in the autism sphere. It also has a website that it provides a range of information through.
Peach is a national charity that supports parents of children with autism. Peach want a world where parents of children with autism get superior professional advice in a timely manner and feel empowered to make informed decisions and appropriate choices.
Peach is positive about the potential and passionate about releasing the innate potential of each individual child that we work with. Peach also works with families to ensure they realise that they can overcome obstacles. Peach puts parents in contact with other parents, provides information and employs nine clinical staff who give advise on behaviour issues. It is a democratic and accountable organisations led by parents.
