  • Mission statement

    Race on the Agenda (ROTA) is a social policy think-tank that was set up to strengthen the voice of Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) communities through increased civic engagement and participation in society. ROTA was set up in 1984 to work with BAME communities, the Third Sector and others interested in race equality to achieve social justice and promote human rights, equality of opportunity diversity and justice. ROTA is a membership organisation, registered as a charity (No: 1064975) and a company limited by guarantee (No: 3425664).

    Race on the Agenda aims to:

    • ROTA promotes the diversity of our communities, members, staff and volunteers and challenges stigma and discrimination
    • ROTA aims to be accessible putting members and BAME communities at the heart of all we do
    • ROTA is committed to creativity, innovation, change and development proposing new methods where appropriate to ensure the best service for our members and communities
    • ROTA aims to be consistent, accountable, open, honest and transparent in our relationships with members, partners and funders
    • ROTA provides a supportive environment for our members, staff and volunteers and promotes personal development and team work in all we do
