RIBA Education Fund

The RIBA Education Fund was set up as a separate charity from the RIBA in order to manage and administer maintenance grants to students of architecture experiencing financial hardship

Founded 1997

  • Mission statement

Students of architecture must complete a seven year degree including two years in practice. With the escalating costs of University and limited funding available from the government, at some universities up to 90% of students are now struggling to complete their essential professional experience and many are being forced to give up.

In the seven years it takes to become an architect, many factors can affect the income and financing of students currently training. The RIBA Education Fund is open to applications from students in financial need and will consider all applications. Each year the fund tries to assist more and more students of architecture.

These students are learning the techniques to build sustainable and carbon neutral projects, looking to a better, cleaner, greener future. Consider it a worthwhile investment for all of us.
