Founded 2011

  • Mission statement

Carer Support Wiltshire exists for any unpaid Carer living in Wiltshire. Carers are people looking after their relatives or friends who, because of a disability, illness or the effects of old age, cannot manage at home without help.

We offer free and confidential information, advice and emotional support through a Carers Information Pack, a magazine 3 times a year, one-to-one telephone or face-to-face support by a Support Worker, and support groups. In addition we offer outings, therapeutic and pampering breaks, and training opportunities, and the opportunity to influence local Carers policy.

A Carer could be a parent, a child, a partner, a spouse, a sibling, a neighbour or a friend. Some may care for a few hours a week - others may care for someone all day, every day.

  • Aims

    Carer Support Wiltshire aims to:

    • To relieve social isolation by the provision of opportunities to meet other Carers at meetings and outings.
    • To provide information, advice and emotional support to Carers
    • To provide Carers with the opportunity to take a break from their caring role, thereby affording them a means of considering their own health and well being
