A Call to Business

ACTB believes that business has a key role to play in alleviating poverty and social ills. Using biblical principles and values we seek to empower and equip people in developing countries to move from dependency to sustainability based on a "three pillars" approach:
1. Building profitable businesses that create
wealth on a sustainable basis.
2. Ensuring measurable social or environmental impact.
3. Challenging businesses to establish best practice principleto all aspects of their operations

Founded 2001

  • Mission statement

A major focus of A Call to Business is to see business used as a channel for transformation, not simply being financially profitable, but making a measurable social impact.

Since 2007 a major focus has been Sierra Leone, West Africa where we have helped establish various businesses, the main one being microfinance and SME lending. Alongside these businesses is a community development project in Rogbere, near Waterloo, which currently comprises an orphanage for children with physical and mental disability (many polio victims) and a Junior Secondary School, with plans for vocational training, health provision and business development.

  • Aims

A Call to Business aims to:

    • To use the expertise and potency of business done well to bring change and opportunity to struggling communities, equipping and encouraging the transfer from dependency to sustainability.
