Horizons is a registered charity set up in 1991 to take disadvantaged and disabled young people from the inner-city communities of Plymouth afloat. Horizons provides primary and secondary school educational boating trips, After school sailing clubs, school holidays sailing courses and physical and mental disability sailing and powerboating.

    Horizons is a registered children’s sailing charity, its aims are to help disadvantaged and disabled young people from the inner-city communities of Plymouth.

    Horizons was set up in 1991 to take disadvantaged and disabled young people from the inner-city communities of Plymouth afloat. Through the experience of water-based activities that would normally be beyond their means we provide learning and educational opportunities that increase self-confidence and improve social and practical skills. With the increase in facilities and volunteers our programmes have been extended to include family support and have been offered to the wider communities of Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall.
