British Trust for Conservation Volunteers

Founded 1959

  • Mission statement

BTCV encourages individuals and groups from all backgrounds to make a difference in their lives and improve the places around them.

We offer people the chance to have a stake in their local environment and bring communities together. In 2009 we supported 628,000 people and worked on 29,000 projects. Unlike other environmental charities, we don’t own swathes of land. Instead, our work takes place at the heart of local communities where we improve green spaces, plant woodlands, tackle climate change and create opportunities for people to join together in pursuit of a better environment.

By supporting BTCV, you will be supporting communities to develop the skills to protect the UK's environment, whilst helping individual volunteers build confidence and gain skills that will improve their own life chances.

Our vision is for a better environment where people are valued, included and involved. With your help we can continue to improve green spaces, bring communities together and improve health and employment opportunities.
