Southbank Centre

Southbank Centre’s vision is to be the world's most inspiring centre for the arts, to draw everyone possible to this loved site and to captivate them through our unique arts programme and the warmth of our welcome. Our aims are:

· To offer life enriching encounters between audiences and the world’s great and emerging artists in music, visual arts, dance, performance and literature.

· To enable anyone to experience the excitement of exploring their own creativity and artistry through our far-reaching programme of learning and participation.

· To welcome the world to the unrivalled visitor experience of our riverside site with its iconic buildings and history and its continuous sense of festival.

To achieve these aims Southbank Centre is currently funded by an annual grant from Arts Council England of £23 million. We earn £8 million per year through our artistic programme (including income from almost 1 million ticket sales) and £8 million through commercial activities.

Annually we have over £3 million to raise and contributions from individuals, trusts, foundations and companies are vital to our continued sucess.

From our annual turnover of over £42 million, we spend £17 million on operating and maintaining our magnificent 21-acre site including the refurbished Royal Festival Hall, the Hayward Gallery, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room; £20 million is devoted to presenting a world-class artistic programme across all our art forms, of which £3 million is spent on our Learning and Participation programme; £5 million is spent on administration and infrastructure.
