Shape is a disability led arts organisation that was established over 40 years ago. Our work seeks to improve disabled people’s access to the arts; supporting disabled people as artists, those aspiring to work in the arts, and as audience members. We believe that more disabled people should be able to benefit from the unique experience and inspiration that the arts provide.
Shape’s Vision is for disabled people to participate fully in the arts and cultural sector.
Shape’s Mission is to provide skills, opportunities and support for disabled artists, individuals and cultural organisations; and help build a more inclusive cultural sector.
Shape Arts aims to:
- Shape as a sustainable organisation
- More high quality practice by disabled artists
- More disabled people employed in, and leading, the arts
- More disabled people as arts audiences
