The Academy of St Martin in the Fields is one the world's finest chamber orchestras, renowned for fresh, brilliant interpretations of the world's most-loved classical music. We were founded by Sir Neville Marriner and today are led by Music Director, virtuoso violinist, Joshua Bell.

    Our mission is the promotion and advancement of musical education for public benefit. We do this through our live performances, our extensive recording history, by working closely with our broadcast partners and through our Learning and Participation work. This aims to deliver dynamic, inspiring and participatory music-making projects, providing access to participants of all ages, backgrounds and abilities

    We are known for our polished and refined sound, with performances rooted in outstanding musicianship. Each year we collaborate with some of the world’s most talented soloists and directors in order to bring our passion for exceptional performances to audiences all over the world.

    Academy of St Martin in the Fields aims to:

    • To advance the appreciation and education of the general public in all aspects of the art of classical music.
    • To support the practice and performance of chamber orchestral music by the giving of concerts both in the UK and overseas.
    • To commission new works when opportunity arises.
    • To provide dynamic, inspiring and extraordinary music-making projects for people of all ages to engage in music and explore their creativity.
