Cahoots NI

Cahoots NI is a Northern Ireland based professional theatre company delivering spectacular shows to children aged 4-11 years and their families in theatres, healthcare and educational settings.

Founded 2001

  • Mission statement

Cahoots NI create world-class, inspiring theatre for the young child. We aim to expand the imagination of children and to stimulate their artistic creativity through the visual potential of theatre and the age-old popularity of music, magic and illusion. Our ongoing arts and health-care work, Magic Medicine, and arts and education project, Math'a'Magic, form a core strand of the company’s community outreach programme. We are committed to taking vibrant, accessible, engaging performing arts experiences to those children who are marginalised through illness and disability. We assert that every child, regardless of socio-economic environment, personal circumstance or ability, is entitled to experience and enjoy high quality live theatre in the setting that suits them best. Cahoots NI, in line with the Arts Council of Northern Ireland's 5-Year Strategy mission statement, to place the arts at the heart of our social, economic and creative life, believe that we start to achieve this by involving children in the arts from an early age.

  • Aims

    • To ignite and expand the imagination and to inspire artistic creativity in children
    • To develop new theatre audiences for the future by introducing young children to engaging and enjoyable theatrical experience at an early age
    • To enable all children, regardless of socio-economic circumstance, geographical location or mental or physical ability, to get access to exciting high quality theatre.
