Our current projects include: communicating climate change (www. Talkingclimate. Org); supporting people at risk of displacement (www. Climatemigration. Org. Uk); and catalysing personal and community action.
Climate Outreach, formerly the Climate Outreach and Information Network (COIN), is a charity established in 2004 motivated by a vision of a low carbon future that includes everyone.
We have established a reputation as leading specialists on climate change communication.
We work to develop meaningful narratives about climate change that engage a wide range of different people and organisations. CO has always placed a central focus on working to reduce social injustice, which is exacerbated by climate change. Through advocacy for voices that would not otherwise be heard, we support individuals and communities who are adversely affected by climate change, as well as targeting audiences which have not yet been mobilised on climate change.
Using our unique position as a bridge between research and practitioners, we translate academic knowledge on climate change communication and tailor it to the needs of a wide range of audiences, including NGOs, policy-makers and community groups. Through research, consultancy, training and workshops we disseminate the most effective methods of communicating about climate change.
Climate Outreach aims to:
- To ensure that climate change and its impacts are understood, accepted and acted upon across the breadth of society.
