The Educational Frontier Trust

The Educational Frontier Trust (TEFT) funds the Kisima Mixed Secondary School in Nyahururu, Kenya. This provides free high quality education for 160 children from the pastoralist communities of Northern Kenya. This area suffers high levels of deprivation and poverty, with little provision in terms of infastructure, governance and education.

The project is Kenyan-inspired and Kenyan-led, and aims to allow local people, through education, over time to become more self-determining and self-sustaining. The school started in 2005, and the first year of students has just graduated in November 2008. We aim to provide further small grants to allow those that can and want to to begin further education, whether at university or some more vocational training course.
