The Kensington and Chelsea Foundation

We link local donors with local charities, creating lasting, mutually rewarding relationships

Founded 2008

  • Mission statement

The Kensington and Chelsea Foundation has been set up by local people to generate support for local charities in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Although this is the richest borough in the UK, the gap between its haves and have nots is disturbingly wide. For example, average life expectancy is only 73 in the north of the Borough, nearly 11 years less than in the south. Most local residents are unaware of these issues, or of the more than 500 local charities addressing them.

Working with donors, The Kensington and Chelsea Foundation will ensure that funds are chanelled to areas where they will be most effective, monitor grants, provide donors with feedback and help donors engage with charities they support.

  • Aims

The Kensington and Chelsea Foundation aims to:

    • provide a source of expert knowledge about local charitable opportunities.
    • help residents become effective local charity donors and volunteers.
    • increase the value of gifts through matching opportunities and tax efficient giving.
    • raise awareness of the contrasts and needs within our Borough.
    • bring together individuals and communities within the Borough.
