  • Mission statement

Heba is a training and enterprise project for women from diverse cultural backgrounds. It provides a safe and welcoming place in which to learn new skills, make new friends and engage in enterprise activities. Through it's sewing and ESOL classes it enables a hard to reach group of women to socialise with other cultures and learn English in a social and work setting.
Poetry in Wood is an art and craft based training and enterprise project running an accredited course to teach new skills giving people with learning disabilities the chance to express themselves and capitalise on their creative abilities. When they have completed the course they have a chance for paid employment in our social enterprise. They work on commissions from the public. In both projects the members are involved in the day to day running of the project as they are both person centered. Each project is autonomous, having its own budget and bank account.
SSBA Community Trust provides the overall strategy for the projects, manages the payroll and provides management support with a board of trustees.
