The HGF exists to foster established knowledge about the 'givens' of human nature - a blueprint for robust bio-psycho-social human health relevant to individuals, groups and activities of all kinds.

  • Mission statement

    The objectives of the Human Givens Foundation are to promote research and public education into the 'givens' of human nature and their application into the treatment and care of those suffering from mental illness.

    The HGF intends to foster initiatives by those endeavouring to use up-to-date knowledge about the givens of human nature in practical ways, particularly in fields where the development of life skills is vital: education, psychotherapy, health, social work, industrial relations and diplomacy.

    The Human Givens Foundation Ltd aims to:

    • Research: To promote research into the givens of human nature and how the health of persons suffering mental illness of any kind can be improved, and to publish the results of such research.
    • Alleviation of suffering: The relief of persons suffering from mental illness.
    • Education: To advance the education of the public in mental health care by including the human givens perspective.
