Charity information

STEPS Leicestershire Conductive Education Centre

STEPS works with children and young people with cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome and other conditions affecting motor skills. We put parents at the forefront of their children's education. We run an Ofsted registered nursery each weekday, we offer continuing support for children of school age, support for the whole family and activities during school holidays. STEPS work is based on the principles of Conductive Education pioneered at the Peto Institute in Budapest, Hungary. The charity was started in 1994 by 4 Leicestershire families who wanted to bring the benefits of Conductive Education to other families in the area. We now have our own centre in Shepshed Leicestershire and we now support over 50 families from Leicestershire and the surrounding counties.
