The Maypole Project provides a lifeline of support for children with complex medical needs and their whole family. We support over 160 children with life threatening, life limiting illnesses and their families every year across South East London.

The Maypole Project aims to provide high quality, flexible, holistic and ongoing emotional support to children with life threatening, life shortening illnesses or disabiities and their whole families across the South East of England. The support is provided by Family Support Workers who are specifically trained and supervised in their work of meeting with the whole family and helping them design our support to fit their needs.
We also provide support through training, supervision and counselling, to professionals who work with families affected by chronic illness.
The Maypole Project aims to:
- We aim to educate, support and preserve the mental and physical well-being of carers and professionals working with such families and help them with issues of loss and bereavement.
- We aim to relieve and help preserve the mental and physical well-being of children and young people who have complex medical needs and disabilities and to support their family members.
- To educate the general public about emotional support available and how it can be provided to families.
