Hearing Link is a UK wide organisation for people with hearing loss, their friends and families. We make it easier for people to manage the challenges that hearing loss can bring.
Our mission is to ensure people with hearing loss have the knowledge, skills, confidence and contacts they need to participate fully in their world and to overcome the practical and emotional challenges of living with hearing loss.
We help people as they strive to achieve their aspirations and full potential; assist them when they encounter everyday obstacles and frustrations and support them when they are in crisis.
We do this through a wide range of services, including specialist rehabilitation programmes, befriending, an informative website and Helpdesk.
We believe in the power of peer support and connect people with others to reduce their isolation. We believe that sharing experiences, at individual and group levels, helps people to find their own solutions. We provide advocacy for individuals and groups, reflecting and championing the views and priorities of people who become deaf in adulthood, facilitating contact between them and appropriate service providers.
We recruit, train and support a network of informed volunteers who have their own experiences of acquired deafness, and combine their skills and knowledge with input from professionals and relevant bodies to offer our beneficiaries the best information and advice to help them effectively manage their hearing loss and achieve their own life goals.
