Parkside(Aldershot and District Mencap)

Parkside is a local charity that provides support services, advice and information for adults and children with learning and physical disabilities. The organisation was founded in 1963 and supports people with a wide range of needs including Downs Syndrome, Autism and Cerebral Palsy either on site at our Parkside centre or out in the community. On-site activities include an adult’s day service, Children’s After School and Saturday club, a teenage Saturday Afternoon club, a Summer Playscheme and the Gateway social club for adults. Out in the community we provide a 1:1 support scheme for adults and children of all ages and abilities.
Respite is provided by the Take-a-Break scheme for adults and the Sitting services for families with disabled children.
Parkside provides a parents support group that meets monthly and enables families to support each other, discuss current issues and concerns.
Parkside is committed to encouraging all people with learning and physical disabilities to define their own aims and supporting them to achieve their goals
