We create places and programmes where all young people can truly belong, contribute and thrive. We have an accommodation project that houses 30 young people, plus social and educational activities.
Our work is based around an accommodation project and Community Centre near to Doncaster town centre.
We provide a home for 30 young people between the ages of 16 and 25 (occasionally up to 30). A variety of things lead to them living with us; parents breaking up, relationships not working out, making a difficult decision somewhere along the line.
Once they’re with us, young people can stay for up to two years. And we can use that time to help them rebuild their lives.
The Community Centre’s more of a place to have fun; we have the usual youth club standards of table tennis, snooker, darts and so on along with organised activities.
We also now operate a scheme assisting young people to move into private rented sector accommodation. There simply aren't enough social housing options available to young people, and a place in the private rented sector - with appropriate support from us - is a great way for young people to move on an live independently.
We'd very, very much like to hear from local people who might be interested in joining our Board of Governors. We have a great group of people already and we're seeking one or two more with some current business knowledge to add to the skills we already have.
