Rockinghorse

Rockinghorse has been making life better for children in hospital for 40 years. Best known for its work in helping to create the new Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton, the charity has provided TVs, games, pictures and new furniture for childrens services in hospitals across Sussex.

Current projects include creating a garden for children at the Finches Respite centre in Burgess Hill, helping to develop the new Chalkhill Child & Adolescent Mental Health Unit at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath where there is one of the country’s leading services for children with a wide range of acute mental health needs. A new purpose built facility is being created and with your help it will be a fantastic centre for these children, and helping with the redevelopment of the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton.

Rockinghorse wants to make sure that no child needs to be frightened, daunted or bored when going into hospital in Sussex and aims to make children’s hospitals and wards across the county not scary, but fun places for children to go in order for them to stand the best chance of making a full recovery.
