Jacksons Lane is an arts & community hub for North London. 2015 marks our 40th year, we serve over 3500 people every week, offering 50 different activities and events for all ages & all interests
As a centre for the diverse communities of North London, we provide weekly activities for people of all ages both at Jacksons Lane & in outreach with the most hard-to-reach groups. We serve the communities of Haringey, Camden, Barnet, Islington &Brent and create new projects aimed specifically at dealing with the issues most affecting Londoners: toddlers, children & young people to those older people &pensioners in their 90s and older. We cover arts, education, well being & social care.
Jacksons Lane has been a prominent part of Haringey’s community for 40 years, renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and accessibility for all. The financial situation of Jacksons Lane has always proved to be challenging yet the resilience of the staff, patrons and local community has always ensured that income comes into the centre in many different ways. We are funded through the Arts Council, The London Borough of Haringey, and a number of one off grants from Trusts and Foundations. In addition Jacksons Lane earns half it’s annual income approximately £500,000 per year, itself.
Jacksons Lane aims to:
- To provide top quality theatre and arts for all members of our community
- To work with hard to reach communities in outreach, with a particular focus on Tottenham - one of the most deprived areas in the country
- To work closely with schools, councils and voluntary organisations to ensure all children and young people in our community have access to and engagement with the arts and culture
- To include older people and the most vulnerable members in our community and ensure people are not left alone battling isolation, depression and deterioration
