Camden Arts Centre
Camden Arts Centre
Camden Arts Centre is a world-class contemporary visual arts space with free admission. As a dynamic place for seeing, making and talking about art, we explore the ideas and work of today's artists.
Camden Arts Centre’s educational goals are: to increase free access for all to world-class contemporary art of the highest calibre; to nurture individual creative skills and personal expression; to increase the sense of ownership of Camden Arts Centre by groups who might feel distanced from the visual arts; to enable people of all ages and abilities to access current cultural ideas and relate them to their own experiences.
Our innovative and integrated approach to contemporary visual arts and education is rated as Outstanding by Ofsted. We enjoy strong relationships with schools, colleges and community centres, and provide free access to high quality, pioneering education projects. These include fully accessible workshops, talks, events and activities to encourage understanding, appreciation and participation in contemporary visual art.
Camden Arts Centre aims to:
- To provide a welcoming and open environment for our local community, arts specialists and the wider public to enjoy a deeper relationship with the building, programme, staff and artists
- To provide a structure in which artists, emerging artists and the public can engage with a creative process, within an ethos and community of learning and debate, championing new ideas and viewpoints
- To maintain a balance between opportunity for making and observation in which people of all ages, abilities and background have access and resources to develop skills and ideas
