Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice

The local Hospice for a hugely diverse population of over 446,000 people in the London boroughs of Greenwich and Bexley. Providing specialist care to dying people and supporting their loved ones.

Founded 1985

  • Mission statement

We aim to work with the individual people we care for to improve the quality of life for them and their loved ones.

Our holistic approach includes pain and sympton control, complementary and art therapies, rehabilitation, counselling, social work support and spiritual care.

We support the whole family as well as the patient at a most difficult and distressing time - whether this is relieving pain and anxiety, enabling people to attend special occasions, or helping families to navigate legal and financial matters. It’s the needs of the person that matters - not the illness.

  • Aims

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice aims to:

    • To provide specialist palliative care, free of charge, to dying people in Greenwich & Bexley. We aim to work with the individual people we care for - putting them, not their illness, first.
    • To support the carers, friends and families of our patients, ensuring that they have the information, advice and support they need at a most difficult time.
    • To educate and support other health and social care professionals to improve end of life care in all settings
