Maternity Worldwide

Maternity Worldwide saves lives in childbirth in sub-Saharan Africa. We train midwives, improve access to health care facilities, provide community maternal health promotion and income generation.

  • Mission statement

    We have a vision of a world in which all women and their babies are able to access safe and appropriate childbirth regardless of where they live. Maternity Worldwide exists to help reduce the number of women dying or injured in childbirth. Our mission is to work with communities and our partners to:

    * identify and develop appropriate and effective ways to reduce maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity
    * facilitate communities to access quality skilled maternity care
    * support the provision of quality skilled care.

    We are driven by unmet need and by our ability to make impact on health-related causes of maternal mortality in resource poor-settings. Our programme activities are community based and community-led in design and monitoring. We seek to develop and support well managed effective and sustainable programmes which offer high quality services, offering the best value for our beneficiaries and supporters.
