Canon Collins Trust

Since 1981 we have awarded over 3000 postgraduate scholarships to southern African scientists, human rights lawyers, civil servants, educationalists, doctors and other professionals.

Founded 1982

  • Mission statement

We believe that southern Africa’s development depends on strong leadership in key fields including health, education, governance, human rights and biodiversity. Our vision is of a southern Africa whose people have the freedom and capabilities to shape their own future. Without African-led research and policies, the region will struggle to find appropriate and effective solutions to its many development challenges.

  • Aims

    Canon Collins Trust aims to:

    • We work with community-based projects across the region to increase access to education for young people, empowering more students to continue their education to university level and beyond.
    • To enable talented individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds in southern Africa to reach their full potential, we run several scholarship schemes for postgraduate study and research.
