Childhood foundation

Childhood Foundation’s mission is to enhance childhood experiences particularly for those children who are disadvantaged by virtue of race, disability, social or economic circumstances.

Childhood Foundation is a small dynamic and efficient charity, set up in June 2003 with the following aims:

• To educate young people especially but not exclusively through their leisure-time activities so as to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society.
• To provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation of young people who have need for such facilities by reason of their youth, disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstance; in the interests of social welfare and with the objects of improving their life conditions.

Currently we meet these objectives by delivering holiday clubs for children in the London Borough of Sutton. We run the popular Club Mania holiday club for 8-14 year olds as well as the well regarded specialist play scheme for children on the autistic spectrum. On a monthly basis we run heritage and development education workshops targeting families of African descent living in the UK.
