Charity information

Link Age Southwark

Link Age Southwark is a small, vibrant, local charity. For more than 20 years we have been providing friendly volunteer support to older people across Southwark, reducing loneliness and isolation and helping older people maintain active lives within the local community.

We work with over 300 volunteers each year and support over 500 older people across the London Borough of Southwark.

Founded 1993

  • Mission statement

Link Age Southwark works to improve the quality of life and the physical and mental health of isolated older people in Southwark. We do this by:

    • recruiting and supporting volunteers to befriend older people and provide emotional and practical support; and by
    • organising group activities in the local community

We combat loneliness and isolation and enable older people to live fulfilling lives in their own homes for as long as possible.

    VISION

Link Age Southwark contributes to a stronger and richer local community in which older people feel respected, supported and a part of the life going on around them; a community which recognises and accepts the valuable contribution that older people can make and where people of all ages are enabled to get to know and help one another.
