The Interlink Foundation

The Interlink Foundation is an umbrella body supporting the Orthodox Jewish voluntary sector. It has a membership of almost 200, and reaches out to more than 100 Voluntary and Community Organisations (VCOs) a year, through one-to-one consultancy support and advice. In 2007 it levered in more than £2,000,000 for the benefit of the Orthodox Jewish community.

As a membership organisation, Interlink provides a shared voice for the community vis-a'- vis public organisations, and a bridge to social policy initiatives. It facilitates the participation of Orthodox Jewish organisations in local policy and regeneration programmes, including the delivery of regeneration initiatives.

Interlink has established 8 strategy groups, where community organisations regularly meet senior managers of statutory organisations, leading to the improvement of services for the community. The strategy groups have proven extremely successful, and in fact, Interlink has been awarded the prestigious 2008 London Compact Award in conjunction with Adult Services Department for Hackney Council for innovative partnership working.

It also runs cultural training to statutory organisations about the Orthodox Jewish community, faith and culture, thereby improving mutual respect and understanding between the different communities.
