Charity information

Diamond Way Buddhism UK

We provide a community for the support of meditation practice from the Diamond Way Karma Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism. We are buying and renovating the Beaufoy Institute in Lambeth

Founded 1994

  • Mission statement

The key activity for Diamond Way Buddhism is the development of the individual, because communities can only grow and overcome difficulties if individuals can first overcome their own limitations. The communities we form are amazingly diverse, with the young and old from all strata of society contributing in all manner of ways. In the future we can only expect these activities to grow with the vision of human potential that Diamond Way Buddhism embodies inspiring many more groups, centres, and places for people to practise meditation. Many other activities will also grow, including the provision of educational material on Buddhism for schools, a full engagement with science, medicine and psychology, and homes and hospices to care for the elderly and dying – all driven by the a view of the world where overall happiness is the measure of real progress.

In the UK, our next major project – a landmark Buddhist centre in London - will provide an example of a meaningful way to live for our cities in the 21st Century.

  • Aims
