our right to read

In 1993, there was a breakthrough in our understanding of the structure of the English alphabet code - one of the most complex writing systems in the world. This led to radical shift in our knowledge about how to teach reading, and ultimately to a 'silent' revolution in reading instruction. Our Right to Read was set up to provide financial support to parents and teachers for tutoring and training in the The Sound Reading System - the most advanced of these new methods. Average gains on standardized reading tests for 400 students at our reading centre are 2 years or more after 18 hours tuition. And these results are replicated in every setting where this method has been applied, from Reception classes to Youth Offending Institutions. Most importantly, no one fails to learn to read, write, and spell.

Our Right to Read's success is so great, we urgently need special Project funding for personnel to monitor and support Institutions which are implementing this programme throughout England. Please help us make England truly and fully literate.
