Stage2 is Birmingham’s biggest and busiest youth theatre. We provide children aged 7-21 not only a platform for drama training and acting experience, but also technical, marketing, fundraising etc.
“Through active involvement in a youth theatre, create wide-ranging opportunities for young people in the West Midlands, empowering them to achieve their full potential.
Stage2 provides a wealth of opportunities for 200 young people from all over the West Midlands every Saturday during school term time. We always produce at least one full scale production in a major city centre venue every single term which any member can be a part of without auditioning. We also offer a range of workshops ranging from general (learning basic skills) as well as more specific skills workshops in a variety of subjects such as Musical Theatre, Technical Theatre and Poetry. We also run a specific workshop for 7 - 10 year olds.
We also provide a whole range of work experience opportunities in Marketing, Fundraising, Mentoring, Technical Theatre, Teaching, Administration etc. We believe that Stage2 should teach each member about transferable skills that you can use elsewhere in their lives.
We operate a complete Equal Opportunities Policy where any member who wants to join Stage2 is allowed to regardless of any situation including financial. There is a fee to join Stage2 but if families are struggling to reach this payment (currently £120/£140 for the term) then they can apply to the company to pay for some of (or all if necessary) the fees.
Stage2 is about plotting a personal journey - we want members to plan how to use the opportunities that are provided to better their futures.
