Global Action Plan UK

Global Action Plan is an environmental behaviour change charity that supports everyone to live & work more sustainably at a level that is right for them.

Founded 1993

  • Mission statement

Global Action Plan is an award-winning environmental charity, providing the UK’s only environmental behaviour change projects endorsed by the United Nations Environment Programme.

Living sustainably – within the limits of our planet – is a challenge we make achievable by offering practical yet creative solutions that inspire people to take action. Our programmes take people on a transformative journey to more sustainable living – a journey it is imperative we all undertake. We break down what can seem an insurmountable task into small practical steps that anyone can adopt on a daily basis. Instilling a sense of passion and urgency in people, we help them make food, energy, water, waste and travel choices that are less damaging to the environment.

Taken together we explore and pioneer behavioural change programmes which challenge the small choices people make day-to-day and which can ultimately make a big difference.

We are the practical and realistic voice of the environmental movement in the UK. We collaborate with individuals and organisations that want to take action to reduce the detrimental impact they have on the planet. We work with many leading public, private and civil society organisations, from schools to businesses, BSkyB and MTV to the British Council and EDF. Everyone has a different scale of ability and scope to alter their behaviour and we develop tailored programmes to inspire staff, customers and service users to catalyse change in a meaningful way.
