RAPID International is an umbrella charity that seeks to develop and implement sustainable preparedness and mitigation projects in disaster prone areas, maintaining a specialist search and rescue team

  • Mission statement

    RAPID International (Rescue and Preparedness in Disasters), is a non-government funded umbrella organisation that provides experienced disaster-response search & rescue personnel to major disasters across the world through it's sister organisation RAPID-UK. RAPID International also provides sustainable training and mitigation programmes to disaster-prone countries.

    RAPID is staffed entirely by volunteers; men and women who have all amassed a large amount of experience worldwide saving lives of others trapped as a result of some of the world's worst natural disasters. RAPID also have many years experience in project development and delivery supporting the most vulnerable people in disaster prone areas.

    To date, RAPID volunteers have attended earthquakes, floods and hurricanes on every continent of the world including the devastating earthquakes in Gujarat, India (2001), Bam, Iran (2003), Kashmir, Pakistan (2005) and Pisco, Peru (2007) Haiti (2010) to name but a few

    RAPID International aims to:

    • Develop and implement sustainable preparedness and mitigation programs for the most vulnerable people in disaster prone areas of the world.
    • RAPID also aims through its sister group RAPID-UK to deploy specialist response teams to major disasters around the world.
