The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity

The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is the only dedicated charity for patients and research at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre on the Wirral and our satellite radiotherapy centre in Aintree, along with our network of chemotherapy clinics across Merseyside and Cheshire.

Founded 1996

  • Mission statement

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is a UK leader in the delivery of cancer care, and is one of the largest networked centres in the country, treating around 30,000 individual patients each year, and providing around 221,000 episodes of the highest quality cancer care and treatment. From ten operating sites across Merseyside and Cheshire we provide cancer care and treatment to a population of 2. 3 million people throughout Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire and the Isle of Man, as well as national and international patients.

We offer pioneering chemotherapy and radiotherapy, as well as proton therapy treatments via our National Centre for Eye Proton Therapy, which is the only proton therapy facility of its kind in the UK. We are a leading centre of excellence for pioneering cancer research and are renowned for making breakthroughs in many areas of cancer research, leading to more refined and bespoke treatments.

We help to enhance patient care, fund vital research, the latest therapies and innovations in cancer treatment that may otherwise be unavailable, which means we can make Clatterbridge a special place, helping our patients, young and old, get the best possible care.
