Lench’s Trust is one of Birmingham’s oldest charities, founded in 1526, whose purpose is to promote the well-being of the elderly population of the Midlands by providing care and support to those who are in need through social isolation or financial hardship. The Trust has for many years provided sheltered accommodation and is dedicated to providing a home for life to some of Birmingham’s elderly needy who are poor or socially isolated. It operates three residential sites with up to 150 residents in Birmingham and the surrounding area.
Lench’s Trust is now expanding its services to help more, older people through the creation of an ‘extra care’ community at its site at Ridgacre in Quinton. This ground breaking development, aimed at creating a ‘retirement village’, will enable the elderly to live independently with dignity and a sense of security knowing that professional care and support staff are on hand giving access to care and support on a 24 hours a day 7 days a week basis.
