Rainbow Trust Africa

Established in 1996 Rainbow Trust Africa operates from a base in Livingstone Zambia and asks its supporters to 'help us bring a smile back to Africa'. The Trust seeks to do this through the provision of high quality education, medical services, support for destitute grannies and the establishment of community based churches.

Currently operating a 100 strong pre-school plus a 9-grade 2-form entry primary school with over 400 pupils, of whom 33% are totally sponsored, the grade 7 external exam results in all three of the years 2006, 2007 and 2008 yielded a 100% success rate. Medical services based on a well equipped Medical Centre on the Livingstone site, include a twice weekly mobile clinic visiting 5 remote locations and providing support for those who otherwise would have no access to care. 13 grannies and their AIDS orphaned grandchildren are provided with financial support and in some cases, housing. 5 vibrant and thriving village church communities have been established and the Gospel continues to spread through the work of enthusiasic workers.
In all the Trust has over 70 employees at the Livingstone site.
A second site at Muzoka, some 250 kms. North of Livingstone began development in 2005. A major new initiative to establish a hospice for AIDS affected children is currently being planned and funds are urgently required in order to progress this.
