Girlguiding Cambridgeshire West

Girlguiding Cambridgeshire West is part of Girlguiding UK which is the largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women in the UK. Girlguiding Cambridgeshire West, which extends from just north of Peterborough to St Neots and from Kimbolton to Earith, has nearly 4000 members including approximately 450 adult volunteers. Our aim is to enable girls to develop in order to take an active role in their communities through a programme of fun and stimulating activities delivered by trained adult volunter leaders. Girlguiding UK gives girls a voice; is modern and relevant to today's girl; promotes diversity and equality; and offers a safe girl-only space.

We are currently trying to raise the final £30,000 for a new building for our residential centre to provide campers with a disabled shower/toilet facility, camp store, and wet weather shelter plus an activity room for those using the residential accommodation so that crafts, etc can be left out instead of having to clear away for meal times. Residential events provide opportunities for girls to learn lifeskills - and are the highlight of the Guiding calendar. We will welcome any financial assistance, however small, to make this project a reality.
