Charity information

Hi Kent

We are the registered charity for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in Kent. We have been established since 1986 and currently help 30,000 people every year. The majority of our clients are elderly, frail people with hearing loss, who are among the most vulnerable in society. We recruit and train volunteers to run hearing aid aftercare clinics in towns and rural villages where we provide local while-you-wait services including free retubing and cleaning of hearing aids, replacement batteries and advice on all aspects of hearing loss. We also provide a wide range of deaf assistive equipment to help people in their daily lives.

The demand for our help continues to increase dramatically. We had the honour of being the only Kent organisation to receive the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in 2007.
